Obv.: REPUBLIQUE - FRANÇAISE / • Dupré * • (in script below bust plus a five pointed star between dots) , bust of Liberty, facing left within legend and a circle of dots. - Buste de la Liberté, coiffée du bonnet phrygien, à gauche; signé cursif dessous: Dupré *.
Rev.: CINQ / CENTIMES / L´AN 8 • / (Artemis) BB (a sheaf) , value, currency, mint mark and privy marks within an oak wreath. - dans une couronne de chêne très fournie, les lettres BB au centre bas de la monnaie. Ensuite on remarque encadrant les lettres BB, à gauche le différent monétaire du Graveur général Augustin DUPRÉ (Artémis tirant à l'arc) et à droite le différent monétaire du Directeur de l'atelier de Strasbourg Gabriel Godefroid Dubois (une gerbe).

The liberty head was designed by Augustin Dupré (1748-1833) - Engraver-General at the Paris Mint from 1791 to Germinal, Year XI (March-April 1803). The small figure on the reverse field is the goddess Artemis drawing a bow and is Dupré's privy mark.
