Simone Veil (* 13. Juli 1927 in Nizza als Simone Annie Liline Jacob; † 30. Juni 2017 in Paris) war eine französische Politikerin und Holocaust-Überlebende.
Von 1974 bis 1979 war sie französische Gesundheitsministerin. 1975 brachte sie das Gesetz zur Entkriminalisierung des Schwangerschaftsabbruchs zur Abstimmung, das deshalb als Loi Veil bekannt ist. Von 1979 bis 1993 war sie Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments und von 1979 bis 1982 dessen Präsidentin. Von 1993 bis 1995 war sie Frankreichs Sozialministerin. Von 1998 bis 2007 war Veil Mitglied des Verfassungsrats. Ab dem 20. November 2008 war sie Mitglied der Académie française.
