Åšwiebodzice (German: Freiburg) is a town in south-western Poland with 22,793 inhabitants (as of 2019). It is situated in Åšwidnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
The town dates back to the medieval Kingdom of Poland. It was granted town rights by 1279. Its old fortifications from around 1279, still remain. From the Late Middle Ages until 1945, the town had a predominantly German population and was known as Freiburg.

1774 der große Brand von Freiburg, der alle drei Kirchen und 433 Gebäude in Freiburg und Polsnitz in Schutt und Asche legte (26. Juli 1774), darunter auch das erst 1770 fertig gewordene neue Pfarrhaus. Es wurde sofort eine hölzerne Notkirche errichtet und am 2. Advent 1774 in Gebrauch genommen. Die Stadt wurde mit Hilfe des Königs, der persönlich nach Freiburg kam, um die Bürger zu trösten, wieder aufgebaut.
