treasure of ca. 300 Roman coins found in East Flanders, broken vase and cleaned coins in Museum PAM in Velzeke
A silver treasure of ca. 300 Roman coins found 2009 in East Flanders. Period 3rd century AD., coins ca. 80% Gordianus, 10% Philip I, 5% Trajanus Decius and 5% of the female partners of these emperors. There are still some to find because the vase was destroyed by plowing.
The treasure was donated to local Museum PAM in Velzeke, East Flanders who also did the cleaning. A small part of 20 pieces is in my showcase at home.
