Rev.: ΣANAHN[ΩN] / AΠOΛ , tripod between two laurel branches.
von Aulock Phrygien 1 856-58 ; David RN 1925 p. 136, 10 ; Imhoof KM p. 286, 1 .
Historia Numorum (B. Head): "Sanaüs is placed by Ramsay (C. & B., i. 230) at the foot of the hills overlooking the northern coast of the salt lake Anava, on the eastern highway between Apameia and Laodiceia. The only coin at present known of this town belongs to the second or first century B.C. Obv. Head of Apollo, rev. ΣΑÎΑΗÎΩÎ, Tripod between laurel boughs. Magistrates, ΑΠΟΛ or ΠΡΟ (Imh., Kl. M., 286, and Zur gr. u. röm. Münzk., p. 165). It would seem that the territory of Sanaüs was sub- sequently absorbed into that of Apameia."
