Obv.: KIANG -SOO / EIVE CASH , flying imperial dragon, coiled leftward around flaming pearl of celestial wisdom; KIANG -SOO above , EIVE CASH below; rosettes separating the legend at either side.
Rev.: é€ çœè˜‡æ±Ÿ / å…‰ / 寶 – á ªá £á £ á °á¡ - å…ƒ / ç·’ / 文五錢制當元毎 , four Chinese characters at center: "Kuang Hsu Yuan Pao or “guÄngxù yuánbÇŽo", reading from top to bottom and right to left (Kuang Hsu Valuable Coin) and a Manchu script central mint mark “Boo Su“, all inside beaded circle; in the outer circle, Chinese characters: “JiÄngsÅ« shÄ›ng zà o“ “made in the province of Jiangsu“ / “wén wÇ” qián zhì dÄng yuán mÄ›i“ “five wen per yuan in the system of money“.

The Kiangsu-Kiangsoo Province is located on the east coast of China. Modern mint equipment was installed in the Soochow mint in 1898, and another mint was opened in 1904. Both mints ceased production in 1906.
