Obv.: 1835 / AUSP: REG: - SEN: ANG: , coat of arms of the East India Company: smaller shield, 2 lions at sides, St Georges cross on the crest and flags, with the date between the scroll and the ribbon, slanting top to Numeral 1 in date. The ribbon bears the abbreviated Latin motto "Auspicio Regis et Senatus Anglia" (By the Command of the King and Parliament of England).
