Obv.: GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR , his crowned head facing left, bead or dot below; type A high relief head (long trefoils in crown), all within a raised, toothed rim.
Rev.: 1/2 / PICE / INDIA / 1939 , country, value, date and denomination within a dotted circle and within a serpentine wreath of vine leaves, the leaves running in a clockwise direction, all surrounded by a raised, toothed border.
